Pickering Pre-School Playgroup

Pickering Pre-School is for children from the age of 2 years old who live in the town of Pickering, North Yorkshire and the surrounding area. We also run a weekly Parent Baby and Toddler "Stay & Play" playgroup.   We are an independent not-for-profit charitable organisation providing care and learning for all pre-school children.

Run by experienced and well-trained staff, Pickering Pre-School Playgroup was established in 1965 and has proudly been offering pre-school learning for young children in the area for many years. Initially at the Quaker Meeting House, then at Hallgarth, we are now based in the Portable Cabin on the site of Pickering Community Infant and Nursery School, on Ruffa Lane, Pickering. We are not part of the school but do have a good working relationship.

We are committed to inclusivity, seeing to ensure that every local child, regardless of their situation and abilities, can be accommodated and be helped to develop and grow to their full potential. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, have a keyworker system with all children which gives a child a more secure, stable and safe time in setting and also helps build the relationships with families. We are members of the Early Years Alliance.

Our session times are weekdays between 9am -12am, with 9am– 3pm sessions on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; half or full days available. (Wednesdays are now our only half day).
